Chaítra by María José Luque Fernández

The night of the spirits had arrived. The place was questionable, but not the moment—they had debated it at length.

It was the ninth day of the month of Chaítra. In the sky, the perfect alignment of the Moon with Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Venus could be seen. There was no time to lose. The universe had begun to dance.

He was not difficult to find: his light blue skin and his long hair tangled freely at the whim of the wind did not allow him to go unnoticed. He walked without haste, his gaze lost, his mind perhaps many kilometers away. His clothing was strange too—a short tunic, wide yellow trousers, and in his hand, a bow. Who else but Sajad, ever watchful, could that young man be?

Form, time, and space were no longer visible. In their place, energy—bursts of light and color—danced in discontinuous harmony throughout the universe. A supernatural struggle had been unleashed. The consequence, without doubt: Sajad. The solution: himself.

He walked firmly, decisively, toward that gloomy place—the forest of spirits. He was not afraid. No one could harm him. He was the chosen one.

At daybreak, there was still no news of Sajad. The wise men began to doubt. Perhaps he was not the chosen one?

He had unleashed the fury of the elements. His predecessor had already warned him: “Do not challenge them. They are indispensable, insatiable. Even if you believe you have the power, it is not true. They are the ones who allow you.”

The threshold had been crossed, requiring swift intervention. The intensity of that light could blind him. Before entering the portal, he threw the bow far away—for this battle it would not be needed.

They intercepted him, yet he managed to forge his way through. He surrendered, closed his eyes, and almost instantly abandoned the prison of his body. He suspended the transit; time did not exist there, only energy.

Above him, as if in projection, the four elements—earth, air, water, and fire—debated between punishment and forgiveness. Insurrection could not be tolerated in a stellar being, bearer of light.

Though calm, something troubled him, making him feel weak. That fifth element, superior to all that was known, kept him captive. Without knowing why, he chose to surrender, laying aside his pride. His audacity, perhaps, deserved punishment. He felt something strange—his mind was now controlled, guided toward a tangled labyrinth of light. He was in a latent state, inside a spiral, immersed in the cycle of life, death, and rebirth.

Spheres of light joined the journey. Four portals—North, South, East, and West—each carried a different message, a circle to close, the cycle of existence and consciousness, complemented by positive and negative polarity: forces that complete and unite so that the cycle may end. Wisdom and balance were his sustenance.

That fifth element had granted him access to a higher frequency, where earthly forces, celestial ones, and humanity converge, giving way to absolute self-regeneration.

He had become a guardian of planetary balance.
